Amanda DeFede, Esquire
Amanda DeFede joined William B. Reichhardt & Associates in 2005 as an associate. She graduated from West Virginia University in 2001, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Journalism, Magna Cum Laude. Ms. DeFede was also an University Honors Scholar. She received her law degree from The University of Georgia School of Law in 2004, where Ms. DeFede served as a Notes Editor on the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law. As a third-year law student, she represented indigent criminal defendants through the School of Law's Legal Aid and Defender Clinic.
Ms. DeFede was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 2004 and is licensed to practice in the Virginia state courts, as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. She practices primarily in the areas of education law, family law, juvenile law and criminal defense. Ms. DeFede has represented clients in all State Courts in Northern Virginia and the Supreme Court of Virginia. She has also represented clients in a variety of administrative proceedings, including student discipline, special education due process hearings, and teacher employment disputes.
Ms. DeFede is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Fairfax Bar Association and the Virginia Women Attorneys Association. She is also a participant in the Northern Virginia Legal Services Pro Bono Program.
